Canonteign is enchanting and full of surprises! After being welcomed as part of the extended family, my first meeting opened an insightful discussion about attracting the vibrant art community to enjoy and explore the biodiversity that Canonteign Falls has to offer.

From the jurassic atmosphere of the Victoria fern garden to the gentle walks around the sunny lakes and surrounding Woodlands, I discovered art all around me from willow sculptures to stunning glassware. The whole place vibrates with a majestic beauty that for a moment took my breath away.

Walking around the estate opened my eyes to the wonderful sights and serene feelings that fill the air, bringing with it feelings of a regenerative quality.

There's a genuine love and consideration for the conservation of this alluring part of Devon from the owner and her family. I feel particularly inspired by the bee garden and unique and ancient varieties of apple trees which i cannot wait to start sketching. This picture is in my sketch book, Clampitt Falls one of the first waterfalls to spot in acrylic.
